The latest update includes Dunn male marriages from 1855 to 1889. Uniquely I also have hand written copies of these certificates. –if you would like a scanned copy of any just fill in the form.

Please for give any delays in replying as this last month has seen the culmination of a year long project from which I’m recovering – see http://livingkidneydonation.co.uk

If you have any comments on the site –particularly suggestions for improvement I’d be delighted to receive them.

Those who have naval ancestors around the 1795+ period may be interested in another project I’m working on ADM26.

Finally in this update if any are interested in privateering during the War of 1812, United States declared war on Great Britian in June of 1812. Then my other site will be of interest www.1812privateers.org

Editor appears on BBC Antiques Roadshow from Dundee

Thursday, 04 September 2008

What excitement up at 06.00 and left house at 07.50 for Antiques roadshow – arrived in queue about 08.30

As we arrived at reception they checked our items and gave us coloured tickets to the appropriate queue. I was seen by Dendy Easton who said he’d like to film my item – I was then put in a side area along with others to be filmed – our details taken and then we were moved to another room and given coffee and biscuits – had to wait an hour before going to be made up at the last minute and then it was on to filming – all was directed by Emma ran through once and had several re-takes due to the problem of the glass on the picture seemingly HD TV demands much more of the camera and operator, focussing being particularly critical. After all that I went and had the watched checked out hallmarked in London in 1870 a standard good quality watch – the key number which had particularly interested me turned out to be the key size! The queues were by now so large I didn’t wait for telescope to be looked at.
